PRE-EVENT SPORTS MASSAGE
Pre-event sports massage is given to an athlete in the immediate day/hours leading up to an event to help support the athlete's performance. A pre-event massage lasts 15-20 minutes to insure not overworking the athlete.
Pre-event sports massage does not count as a warm-up.
Athletes must properly warm up after a pre-event sports massage.
Goals of Pre-Event include:
Increase circulation & warm tissues
Promote a greater controlled range of motion
Decrease pain and stiffness
Decrease nervous tension
Give athlete sense of focus and enhance well being
